National and Worldwide Quilting Day!
Depending on who you ask, today is National Quilting Day (according to the NQA) or Worldwide Quilting Day (according to the Fabric Shop Network).
Whatever we call it, it’s a day to celebrate quilting and all that it means in the lives of anyone who has ever made a quilt, slept under a quilt, touched a quilt, or seen a quilt. That’s gotta be just about everybody, don’t you think?

Illuminations, design by Kay Mackenzie
There ought to be a party. And at a party, there are often door prizes. When there are door prizes, people win them. I have door prizes!
Yep, at almost every guild show I bring along door prizes, goody bags of my books that lucky ticket holders get to take home with them. Instead of tickets, we’ll do comments! If you’d like to win one of my door prizes, leave a comment here on this post before 7:00 p.m. California time on Tuesday, March 18. We’ll do three winners!
Open to U.S. and Canada mailing addresses only. And, I can’t remind about this enough… if you click “Reply” to your email subscription, you will not be entered in the drawing. You have to come to the blog itself and leave a comment.
Happy National/Worldwide Quilting Day!

Happy National Quilting Day to you, too! I will be trimming blocks to (hopefully) finish a top I started in December. Or maybe just working on some blocks I am making for a sampler quilt, or hand quilting on the never ending project…haven’t quite decided yet! May have to go to the fabric store first! :)
I just returned from a quilting retreat at Ocean City. Today I plan to finish the two projects I didn’t complete there.
I think it’s a great day to cut out a new quilt….been eyeing up a storm at sea for awhile now!!
Plan to get some seeds in the ground this morning, then spend the rest of the day quilting.
Happy quilting day I am working on an applique wall hanging today. Love the sunshine we are getting and hope to get out and enjoy it because tommorrow the temp is going to drop to 26. Weird Arkansas weather that we are having.

Would love to win a door prize! I dream of your teapots LOL. Which just goes to show that I am probably in need of more medication than I am currently allowed! :)
I am planning to work on a long-term, ongoing applique project today.
Thank-you for offering today’s prize.
Thanks so much for your generosity! I’d love to win whatever you are giving away. I’m working on some embroidery projects today. There will be quilting involved after the embroidery is done.
Happy quilting day and I’m going to make a quilted teething crib rail-guard today–a long skinny quilt for my teething granddaughter. It qualifies as quilting sort of. Thanks for the give away.
Today I will be celebrating my twin daughters 18th birthdays. These are my only children and all of my quilt dreams are for them. I am currently planning the quilts that will accompany them to college in the fall. Hopefully they will have sweet safe comforting dreams while sleeping under these quilts as they start this new phase in their lives. Happy Quilting Everyone!!
Every day could be National Quilting Day! I’m designing an applique wall quilt of a pear branch, pear and blossoms. And I’m trying to choose my next applique quilt–there are so many choices and styles. Thanks very much for all you do for the quilting world.
Love National Quilting Day! Should be every day, right? Love all your designs.
Happy National Quilting Day! I plan to be quilting all day. I’ll be working on the last 4 applique blocks for my daughter’s wedding quilting and then on to finishing some hand quilting. Thanks for the giveaway.

Happy National Quilting Day to you AND your blog followers! Bobbie
Happy National Quilting Day! And I spent a good portion of the day piecing quilts! Actually, I worked on one in progress and got this month’s BOM done and will do handwork tonight. A great day!
Happy Quilting Day everyone. I am going through my batiks stash cutting squares and strips and throwing out pieces too small to save. Would love to win the goody bag.
I spent much of the day with my quilting friend. We shopped at a local quilt store, prepared and cut some fabric for a new quilter who is making a gift quilt, and worked on preparing backing fabric for one of her quilts. We finished with me doing some cutting for a paper piecing project, and she did some stitching on some microwave bowl potholders. We also included brunch at IHOP. We had a great day!
I’m working on finishing up a large applique piece that will be the center of a quilt. I get so many tips from your site!
I’m sewing a table runner made with blue 2.5 inch charms. Our LQS was hosting Jennifer Paganelli today, but sadly, I had to run errands with my daughter.
Happy Quilting Day! Somehow I always end up working on this day but I will enjoy some quilting soon :-)
I really enjoy Applique! I am a new quilter and am very interested in this givaway! thanks.
I am practicing my free motion quilting during this Nat’l or Worldwide Quilt Day. I am hoping to quilt the first quilt top I made soon.

I spent National Quilt Day with my fellow quilt guild members at the Crete Library in Crete,Ill. We offered demos, door prizes and food. We had many people come in and express their interest in quilting. My guild has always had an activity planned for quilt day. Great fun and fellowship. Love your blog.
I did some hand quilting on a long term applique project. In fact I am unquilting it. I just wasn’t happy with my machine quilting. No matter what I told myself, I still wasn’t happy. So
I am half way, and it looks so much better. I am in love with it again. I am camping with the cattle. Thanks for the give a way.
Thanks for sharing the door prizes on Quilting Day. Love the Illuminations letters, very pretty. Hope you are enjoying the day.
What a great idea for “comment prizes” Kay! Thanks so much for the chance!
Everyday should be quilting day – so many projects, so little free time!
